Fourth of July

We left Thursday and drove down to TX to be with family for the weekend. Friday morning, Shane loaded up Booker and Lucy for the doggie hotel and then we were on our way to see Granny D. Logan was so cute talking about his Great Granny. Here we are with Granny shortly after we got there on Friday.
On Saturday the 4th we picked up Granny and headed out to the Fourth of July parade. Here's Logan all hot and sweaty from watching.

This is my Uncle Mo with a turkey hat on. He had 2 floats in the parade.

Later on that night, we went out for a family dinner with my Aunt and Uncle. Lots of places were closed, so we wound up at a little pizza joint.

Poor Logan has come down with some sort of virus. Yesterday when we got back to my parents house, we started to think that he wasn't feeling great. Last night, he woke up with 101 degree temperature. He was screaming so loud and saying OWWWWWW over and over. It was awful. As a Mommy, I just hate seeing him in pain and not being able to do anything about it. Thankfully, I packed the Tylenol and once it kicked in, he calmed down a little bit. It was a short and choppy nights sleep for Shane, Logan and I as we watched him closely and piled him in bed with us. (Which we only do if he's sick.) This morning, I was able to get him in to see a dr here and they thought it was strep. But, the culture came back negative, therefore it's a virus. He's been running fever all day today despite the fact that I'm giving him Tylenol every 4 hours. Shane and I both agree that this is the sickest that we have ever seen him. I'm hoping that this nasty virus will run its course quickly!!

We had planned to have dinner with Shane's family tonight, but Shane went by himself so I could stay here with Logan and let him rest. Logan and I were very disappointed to miss time with that side of the family. I know that Logan is very sad not to see his Grandma and Grandpa!!! We were all set to ride the Dart rail (a train!!!!) and go to the zoo tomorrow. Logan was so excited and we're just so sad that we're not going to be able to do it. As of right now, we're planning to make the drive back to AR on Wednesday. Shane is on vacation this week and we were hoping to have some family time there before he heads to Kansas City on Sunday for business.

On a happy note, I have the most wonderful friends in the world!! My girlfriends in AR scored me the most awesome toddler bed for Logan on Craigslist. Megan sent me the link and I had emailed about it, but the lady wanted it picked up ASAP. Renee, knowing I was gone, just emailed her and got the bed for me!!! She didn't even ask they just knew that we were looking for one and jumped on the great deal. Thanks SOOOOO much you guys!! And, a big thanks to Megan for checking on our kitty and tackling the millipedes which have apparently invaded our house while we were on vacation.....gotta love this weather.

Okay, I'm headed back downstairs to eat with the family and check on Logan who is watching "choo choo train" (Thomas) for the second time today. Is it just me or are those trains creepy? I cannot hardly watch it at all. Thank goodness for grandparents!
