Weekend

Last weekend we took a trip back to Little Rock to visit some friends and catch up. My good friend, Megan recently had a baby and her oldest son was turning 2. It was so much fun for Logan to see his friends! Our other good friends who moved to Nashville shortly after we moved to TX also came into town. Her son Connor and Logan are exactly 2 months apart and were really close. They remembered each other right away and ran up to each other. It was the cutest thing ever! We all had dinner on Friday night and the boys couldn't stop dancing and playing together. Paxton and Logan were bobbing their heads at each other and cracking up at the table. While the adults caught up for a bit, the older boys (Logan and Connor) ran circles around the table together. They haven't seen each other in 4 months but they remembered. It was amazing.
"Sand" Angels (ever since the snow! LOL)
After the park, it was off to lunch and back to the hotel for a nap. (Thank goodness we wore him out enough to nap!)
After naptime, we headed over to Megan's for the big birthday party! Here are some of the boys jumping in the bounce house. I think every adult also took a turn!

I couldn't resist a little new baby snuggle time...

Does the mantle in that picture look familiar?? Megan's family bought our house when we moved to TX! It is so wonderful to know that a loving family (and one that we love!) is living in our house and taking care of it. Plus, we get to visit!
We had SUCH a wonderful weekend! I'm so grateful to have wonderful friends in several states now! I think it was a little bittersweet for all of us, because as great as it was to get the kids together, it reminded us that we don't have that interaction together every day. We made a commitment to stay close and get together every few months. These are the women that I was with 3 times a week since before Logan was one year old. Our babies grew up together!
I couldn't resist pulling some of the first pictures taken of them together for comparison.
Logan is in the stroller on the far left and Paxton is the tiny baby in the carrier in the front. We were at the Zoo together here.

Our first playdate at Tracy's house. Megan is holding Paxton and that is Logan playing in front of her.

Same day--Connor is next to the little girl and in front of Logan. I know that Logan had just turned a year old and Connor was probably about to turn one here. Haven't they grown? Somehow it makes me happy and sad at the same time to see these pictures.

  1. These pictures are so sweet. It was fun to see the comparison of the boys and how they have grown. These boys will always be special to Logan.

  2. Awe. This made me cry. We love your family and feel so blessed to continue our friendships! I can't wait to see you all again in may :)
