I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately! My Dad had spent about a week in the hospital (week before last) and then spent last week at home resting up. Last week, Logan and I spent the week laying low and catching up since I had spent most of the previous week and weekend with my Dad at the hospital.
The last few weeks have been exhausting but we're hanging in there....What's new with us beyond that?? Well, we got Logan a wonderful new swing set as an early birthday present. (His birthday isn't until the end of May, but we wanted him to be able to enjoy it during these beautiful early spring months.) We also got his sandbox put back together and filled with sand here since we took it apart during the move. He is in heaven in his new backyard!! We spent last weekend relandscaping our front flower beds and they look SO much better. They were an overgrown mess when we bought our house and Shane couldn't wait to get his hands on them.
Also, Logan started swimming lessons this week! I was very nervous since he would be getting into the pool with a teacher (not me) and I would not really be participating in any way. This is the first class that I have ever enrolled him in and the first time he'd have to listen and work with a teacher. However, I felt really strongly about him having swimming lessons this summer since my parents have a pool and water safety is very important to us. He also loves the water and has already asked to swim several times when we're over there. Anyways, back to the first lesson--he did awesome!! I was so relieved. He walked right up to the pool and sat on the little turtle sponge and let his teacher put on his flippers. He loved kicking and was so excited every time she took him out in the water. There is only one other little boy in his class, so they each get a lot of attention. I was even able to leave the room and watch from the observation window! I was such a proud mommy watching him laughing and having fun with his teacher. He watched the other little boy go under and receive a small trophy. His teacher asked him if he wanted to do this too, and he said yes. Off the side he went! I couldn't believe it when he came up happy from under the water. What a big boy! At the end of class, they walked around the pool and went down a small slide into the water and his teacher caught him. He said that was his favorite part.
Here's a picture of him right before we left for his lesson.
The Easter Bunny comes this weekend, so we're all looking forward to that. We plan to make our annual Bunny Cake and do some major hunting for eggs ;) Happy Easter to you all!!
