Updates!

Okay, so I have not been the best blogger lately....I'm sorry! August has been a super busy month. I've been trying to spend a lot of time focused on family and friends along with enjoying the (incredibly hot) summer with Logan.

Logan is just becoming more and more of a little boy every day. He has somehow picked up on what is "for girls" and what isn't. As in, "No Mommy! That towel is for GIRLS!" (To his credit, it was pink with flowers....) Where do they get this stuff?! We're getting ready for preschool to start in another week, and as nervous as we all are, I'm feeling much better about it now then I was 6 months ago when I enrolled him. I know that he is going to learn so much and just have so much fun there. Plus, when the baby comes he'll have planned, structured activities for 2 days during the week. Shane and I are going to the parent orientation this Thursday and I'll take Logan to meet his teacher on Friday. Fall, here we come!!

Logan's really into helping right now and is actually a wonderful help around the house. He can hang up and sort laundry, helps me set the table and empty the dishwasher. And, he always has to have a turn with the vacuum! Here he is helping me get things organized in the baby's room. Speaking of which, I've made it past 30 weeks! Woo hoo! I saw my doctor last week, and from now on he wants to see me every week. I'm there every week for a shot anyways, so it doesn't really make me much difference but it just means that the end is near. Shane and I also toured labor and delivery at the hospital where we will deliver. It's definitely becoming more and more clear that there really will be a baby here before long! The baby is super active and at this point you can see my stomach wiggle and shake from across the room. It's kind of funny! He usually kicks the doctor while he's measuring my tummy :)

We took a trip with our playgroup to a local firestation that has a Safety Town set up. It was so cool! They have a fire truck for the kids to run around on. Here we are together (I'm almost 30 weeks pregnant here.) Logan talking on the walkie-talkie. He kept saying, "We're on our way!!"I took this through the front window, but I couldn't resist sharing it since he looked so darn happy sitting in the fire truck. In August we also have Uncle Marty's birthday. It was really wonderful to be in town this year and to actually celebrate together on the big day! Logan was super excited to help him open his presents. My Dad's birthday is actually this Wednesday, but some of his dear friends threw him a birthday party last weekend. It was truly one of the most touching and overwhelming things I've seen. There were about 80 people there from all over, including several of my Dad's fraternity brothers from college and lots and lots of people he has worked with over the years. They put one candle in the cake and asked Logan to help him blow it out. We were all so grateful to everyone for coming out to support my Dad and the family. It meant so much to all of us.
