Christmas 2010

I'm finally getting some Christmas pictures up! It hasn't taken me that long....right?!

On Christmas Eve Eve I spent the day finishing up our Christmas shopping and doing some baking. That night we put the boys in their pj's and headed out to look at lights. I'm so glad we did! It really helped me to get in the holiday spirit and Logan loved it.

Here are the boys right before we left. I think I've mentioned what a difficult picture taking age Logan is in, haven't I? It is awful...I usually get a silly pirate face, a fake smile with tons of teeth or this which is him talking. This is the best one I got....

Christmas Eve we woke up and finished our baking and headed over to my Mom's. We all loaded up and took the boys to the Children's service at church which was really cute. Christmas Eve is traditionally when we open all of our presents in my family, so here are a few pictures from our gift exchange.

Here is Logan with his panda bear pillow pet from Uncle Marty and Aunt Jill
Graham's sweet smile!! We headed home after that and got the boys to bed. I think it was the latest Logan had ever stayed up. EVER. We had a "slumber party" and let him sleep on the floor in our room so we'd all be together first thing Christmas morning. He was so happy! Logan was so groggy in the morning but the first thing he said was, "I want to see what Santa brought me!" So cute!!

Graham smiling at Logan while Logan opened all of his presents (Graham's presents) and showed him what they were =) Logan LOVED opening presents this year and would have opened all of everyone's gifts if they would have let him!

Christmas evening we spent over at my Mom's house with some of my extended family who was there for the day. Here is Logan and his cousin Brody being silly.Graham and I

My Granddad, me and the boys

We had a very Merry Christmas and are so grateful for all that we have and for all of our wonderful friends and family. We had two beloved family members missing from our circle this year: my sweet Grandma Jean (my Granddad's wife who passed away in January) and my Daddy. I can say honestly that I struggled a lot with the holidays this year and missed them both terribly. There was a part of me that just didn't feel right about celebrating with my Dad not there. There was also a part of me that still kept thinking he'd walk through the door. (Does that ever go away?) I did the best I could to make the holidays special for the boys and to enjoy Graham's first Christmas. I really do believe that it is possible to be terribly sad and joyful at the same time. I look at my precious baby, that my Dad will never know, and feel both of those emotions every day....that is just the life, I guess. I know that many of you said a prayer for our family at your holiday table this year, and for that I am very grateful.
