The Farm

We spent the weekend visiting my Granddad on the farm. Many of you have heard me mention the farm a number of times. It's a very special place to me. I spent every spring break and a week every summer there with my grandparents growing up. It's one of those places that I go to get restored....Things are different now since my Grandma passed away just over a year ago and Granddad is now in assisted living, but the land is the same. We stayed at the house and drove in and out of "town" to spend time with Granddad.

When we got to the house the first night, I told Logan to RUN! He ran for a bit and then turned around as if to say, "are you going to tell me to stop?" We again said, "Run!" I ran after him and we just ran and ran....When we were standing out there I told him that Memaw was a little girl on this same land. He said, "Wow!"

Here's Graham and I with the beautiful sunset
One morning we stopped on a dirt road and let Logan see the crops. This is a cotton field (the cotton hasn't been planted yet for this year.) We found some cotton with the seeds still in it. He was really fascinated by this and asked Granddad for advice on how to grow them. Here we are next to the wheat field. Look how beautiful this land is! My sweet Granddad with Graham. He couldn't get over how happy and smiley Graham was. It was really cute to see Graham "talk" to him

  2. Love the pics! You know I have a special place in my heart for a family farm, too. There's something very sacred about it. I had to do a double take to make sure that big boy was Logan! Wow! I know your Grandpa loved seeing both of those sweet boys!
