Mexico

Shane and I made it back safe and sound from Cancun. We flew into Dallas on Wed night and drove back to AR yesterday. We had a wonderful trip! Our agenda was: nap, relax, eat, nap relax eat....repeat. It was perfect! The picture above was taken in the pool and below you can see how big the waves were. The pool at the hotel was right next to the ocean, so you could hear the waves and see the beach while swimming. It was beautiful!
This was the view from our balcony...it was SO pretty!!
Shane and I in the hotel lobby before dinner our last night there.

We did have a little scare with Logan right before we left. We drove into TX on Sat afternoon and Logan was doing great. He stayed awake the entire car ride and laughed and played. We got in and hung out at my parents for a bit and then went to have dinner at Shane's parents house. He did great over there and all seemed normal. He had a blast playing with some new toys from his Grandma and Grandpa. Then, we put him to bed back at my parent's house, and he woke up about an hour later crying. We went in and while Shane was holding him, I noticed blood on his pillow. I started inspecting him to see where he was bleeding and found that his right ear was full of blood and it was running down the side of his cheek. We were horrified and took him to the ER where they found his ear was too swollen to really see in there, but suspected that he had an ear infection which had caused his eardrum to rupture. He had no previous symptoms. No tugging on his ear or fever....he's only had one very minor ear infection in his life and that was just this March. The doctor assured us that this was common and not to worry. We were (of course) considering not taking our trip, but they convinced us to go on with our plans. My parents gave him the antibiotics and ear drops while we were gone, and we took him to his regular pediatrician today. She said that his ear was healing, but that it was a middle ear infection and rupture of his eardrum. She told us that middle ear infections can be very fast moving and that it does not hurt to manipulate or tug on the ear with this type of infection. This scares me to death, because how on earth do you know that they have an ear infection then?? Poor little guy! But, she said everything was healing right and he finished his antibiotics yesterday.
Well, I'm off to bed. I have a long day of dog evaluations ahead of me tomorrow. It's been a crazy day at home preparing for that and digging myself out of my email inbox!!
