A Budding Artist

We drove in from TX on Monday. I had gotten Logan a dr. apt for 4pm so we had to move quickly to get on the road and make his appointment. He was still running fever then, and they said there was fluid in his ears. So....for the first time EVER my baby was put on antibiotics!!! We've tried to take it easy this week to give him time to recuperate. I didn't keep the boys on Tuesday since Logan was running fever late in the day on Monday, so we just stayed in both yesterday and today. I wanted to give him a little something fun to do in the house so today we painted!!

Here's the before shot...

Working hard at his picture

He's having fun!!

Afterwards while we were cleaning up-so cute!

Logan's just talking and talking. He's learning his colors and can recognize blue, yellow and green. He can now count to 3!!! We play hide and seek all of the time and he loves to count and then come find us. He also LOVES trains and says "choo choo" and signs "train" everytime he sees or hears one. (For those of you who don't know-we live really close to the train tracks.) He also loves to sing and dance. When I'm singing to him before he goes to bed, he's started requesting what song he wants to hear. And, he'll chime in with the ABC's and say the letters he knows. It's hilarious! He's also starting to string some words together. Today he dumped an entire salt shaker in the living room and then said "all gone." I couldn't help but laugh...
Things with us are busy as always but going well. We really enjoyed our trip but it was so sad that Logan wasn't feeling well. Shane's gearing up for storm season when all his guys will be running crazy, which means he'll be running crazy. We're trying to plan a few trips for the Spring/Summer and are determined to have some relaxing time!! Things are getting green here (you can kind of see our trees in the back in the pictures above.) Come on springtime!!!

I do have to vent about one thing though, and I'm sure you Mommies can understand...sometimes I just want 2 seconds to myself. I swear, he will be perfectly fine doing something and then as SOON as I leave the room he's running after me! I cannot even use the bathroom on my own. The other day he had big old crocodile tears because I shut the door to the bathroom. Really?? Sometimes a girl just needs a little privacy. I love him dearly, but sometimes he drives me nuts. Whew. It's exhausting sometimes! Then, the day is over and it's fixing dinner, bathing babies, reading books, storytime, bedtime, husband time.....where is the me time?? So, I wind up staying up late at night because it's the only time that I have just for me all day long-no one to wonder what you are doing or to check in with, no one to worry that they're dumping salt all over your living room or highlighting on your pillows....Okay, vent over : )

Catching Up

I'm back up and running! We're still in TX visiting my parents but thanks to my brother, my computer is BACK! I'm very excited. He wound up and just cleared everything off my harddrive and started over. THANK YOU Marty!!! I'm very excited to be back to blogging....
Poor Logan isn't feeling well. We went yesterday to meet my cousin Spencer's new baby Mitchell and Logan went downhill pretty quickly. We thought he was just over tired, but he was running a low grade fever when we got back to my parents house. He seems to be doing better today but it's still 99.2 degrees. So, I guess I'll try to get him into the doctor to get his ears checked when we home tomorrow.
I'll post with more updates soon, but I wanted to catch up on some pictures...Enjoy!
Uncle Marty, Aunt Jill and Logan last nightLook at that face!! LOLThis was Mar 13 when my Mom came and stayed a few days with us. This was right before she left...saying Goodbye! Logan's friend Paxton's birthday party on Mar 7

These were taken a few weeks ago (Feb 28) when my parents came to visit. We were getting ready to go out to dinner.

This was taken on Feb 21 at Logan's friend Leah's Birthday party at a pizza place.
This is just a funny picture that is so typical of our family. Logan in my lap while I'm trying to sort through paperwork and file things. And, Lucy at our feet right in the middle of it all. A very typical morning at our crazy house!!! LOL

So over my computer...

Well, I've spent the last two days working trying to get my computer back up and running full-speed...I don't think that I have made much progress. I did buy an external hard drive and got all of my pictures backed up so that is a relief!!! But, apparently I have some malware and spyware so I am trying to get rid of that. I'm soooo sick of listening to my computer "spin" to process all of these scans. I can't wait until I'm all up and running again!!! I am sooo behind on all of my emails, not to mention my online bill paying....more updates soon--I promise!

Camera Issues...

Well, I have MAJOR camera/computer issues right now. I am unable to get my photo program to open at all on my computer. Therefore, I have wonderful pictures on my camera but I cannot get them onto the computer or onto my blog. BOOOO!!! I'm not sure what we're going to do...Shane messed with it forever over the weekend and we can't figure it out. Luckily, I can see the folders where my pictures are--so I know that they are not lost. I need to get an external hard drive to back them up before I continue messing with it anymore.

Otherwise, things here are going good. My parents were here over the weekend which was wonderful! Logan loved seeing them, and they couldn't believe how much he had grown. We went out to dinner on Saturday night which was so nice! Shane and I hardly ever do this, so it was such a treat. We were sad to see them go! Luckily, my Mom will be back in about a week to hang out with me and Logan while Shane goes on a trip.

I have been trying to prioritize things in my life lately! I have been getting pretty stressed out over things which has lead me to reevaluating what I am devoting my time to. I'm remembering that I am a stay at home mom so that I can be relaxed and devote my time to my son. But, I also MUST keep up some sort of "Kami" life that is mine and has nothing to do with being a mother...does that make any sense at all??

I have a dog evaluation on Sat which I am organizing. This always involves many many phone calls and emails trying to get everyone scheduled and set up. Plus, I will be at the eval all day on Sat. I'm still organizing a playgroup out here which has grown to about 25 moms!!! I am super excited about that. Luckily, my friend Megan is helping me keep up with everything. We're averaging 2-3 playdates per week. AND, I am still babysitting 2 days a week. Whew. Oh--and did I mention that the last time Lucy and I volunteered she decided she was afraid of the dark plastic crate??? So, we've been in serious training mode. I have probably spent hours and hours training with her over the last few weeks trying to get her ready for our visit on Thurs. (She has to ride in a crate to go up the elevator at the hospital.) Most of you know that I do NOT fool around with my dog training, so I'm not playing with this one. We're determined to work through it!!! You should see me jumping around like an idiot and crawling in the crate with her....TONS of positive reinforcement is the key!! Luckily, I have a friend on back up for our visit on Thurs if I do not think that she is crate ready yet....the odd thing is that she jumped in just fine on our first visit! I just do not get it....

Moving on...otherwise my volunteer stuff is going good but keeping my busy. I've committed to 2 monthly visits at the hospital, and 1 at another facility for children with behavioral disorders. I've also committed to do at least 1 visit per month at the hospital that I delivered Logan in when they launch their pet therapy program this summer. I"m also still hoping to pop in at the nursing home that we've been visiting over the last year, but my babysitting has made me unable to attend my normally scheduled time. And, we're in the midst of starting a therapy dog organization in the area to assist in launching pet therapy programs and provide support to other pet therapy teams. This also requires LOTS of emails and usually a meeting per month.

Logan has a bit of a cough right now, so we stayed in today. I'm hoping that he is feeling much better tomorrow! He hasn't ran a fever, so I'm hoping that it's just a mild cold. He's also still getting into everything...last week he climbed up on the dining room table and got a pen. Not only did he open it, but he drew all over his legs. He's also talking and talking. Granddad taught him to say "two" after he shoots a basket this weekend!

Hopefully, I can update with pictures soon....
